Classic 555 timer in astable mode generating a continuous square wave. The timing resistor and capacitor set the frequency and duty cycle. The simulation shows the capacitor charge/discharge cycle and the resulting output waveform. One of the most versatile and widely-used ICs in electronics — used for timing, PWM, tone generation, and LED blinking.
